Thomas Clipper, a luxury men’s grooming and lifestyle brand, exclusively launched the Modena Collection late last year, which was their first line of Italian-artisan made travel bags and accessories. It’s namesake, Modena is a town in the north of Italy that is well know for Ferrari, Maserati, Balsamic Vinegar and Osteria Francescana, the world-renowned Michelin Star restaurant.
The Modena collection is made in a small family run workshop in the medieval town of Modena and has a 50-year history in crafting the finest of leather goods. The Tuscan cowhides they use are exclusively tanned with a meticulous vegetable process that has used since the Middle Ages which imparts a rich patina that only improves with age.
“Combining the best of British design with first-class artisanship from around the world is an integral part of our brand’s heritage. The Modena Collection has been made with the same passion and dedication as all our previously made products. Thomas Clipper creates timeless collections that improve with age and stand the test of time.” – Co-founder, Antonio Weiss
Each product is embossed with its very own limited edition number and GPS location of the workshop it was handmade in. The collection includes the Overnight Bag in two options, Italian leather with textile trim and a second in all Italian leather, Weekend Duffel, Passport Holder, Laptop Sleeve and Minimalist Card Holder. All items in the collection have been crafted with Tuscan, vegetable tanned full-grain leather and incorporate elite, endurance textile.
The brand was founded by Matt Brown and Antonio Weiss in 2014, who first began selling their premium brand of lighters on Kickstarter. After a huge success, they decided to expand their product line.
