Photo-Essay: Boating in Greece – Paros to Koufonissia

In this exclusive Client Voyage photo-essay, we feature a series of images taken during a boating trip from Paros to picturesque Koufonissia in Greece this Summer.

Across the glistening Aegean water, we spot a small island patched with white blocs. In that distance is the community of Koufonisia, far from the Globetrotters in Mykonos, which has hosted a small population since the Bronze age more than 3,000 years ago. The white blocs are of course buildings – painted with white and blue in line with its seaside village character and turquoise bay.

A resident tells us that only recently have tourists started to visit this historical gem. Yet it remains strongly connected to its history and its heritage entrenched in its being. It is unlikely to excite, but it maintains an idyllic authenticity transcending that of modern society, evoking a sense of how simple life used to be and, for some, still is.
