CLIENT was founded 9 years ago and has remained independent, despite difficult climates that have seen many publishers and small businesses simply disappear. Make no mistake, independently printed magazines and books are in danger and should be supported now and in the future, before we are left with corporate and government-controlled nonsense.
There are thousands of magazines popping up all the time (and why not?). Some are quite amazing and others are plagiarized crap to fuel the ego of someone in need of it. That’s fine because we all have free will and should be allowed to express it – everybody has their own journey. But we have always been in this for the long-haul and our foundation is based on integrity and the need to preserve and encourage authentic photography. We haven’t always got it right, but that is what growing is about.

To help set us aside from the rest, from this issue, we will print only in casebound hardcover, evolving the CLIENT photo-book concept. We want our loyal supporters to get something they can keep and share, not a rag you pick up at the station that ends up on the subway floor. We are also going to be a little more selective in future when choosing who to work with as social media has helped to conceive and nurture way too many self-centred people who we just don’t feel synchronized with at all.
In our new issue, we give up our covers to fresh-faced new talent. The front cover is shared by models Andriy Skrynnyk at UNO Models & Ryan Curtis at Elite BCN, photographed by Berta Pfirsich and styled by Eus Cantó. On the back cover, we see Jonas Funk at Next Mgmt photographed by Dario Vazquez Perez and styled by Cristina Fado.
Throughout the menswear editorials, we jump from England to Israel to Spain and the United States amongst other places and find time to interview talented actor Maxim Baldry who was photographed by Joseph Sinclair.
