Client Magazine
Client Magazine is an independent British magazine founded in 2010 by editor-in-chief and publisher Ian Cole. Rooted in photography, fashion and visual culture, Client has grown into a quiet editorial space for image-making, art, design, architecture, travel, food, interviews, music and slow, considered features.
Across its print editions, digital archive and online journal, Client brings together fashion editorials, portraiture, photo essays, exhibitions, design stories, architectural spaces, hotel and travel features, food and drink notes, interviews and independent creative work from around the world.
The magazine began with a distinct photographic identity and a strong connection to fashion, casting and menswear culture. Over time, it has widened naturally into a broader editorial world — one that values atmosphere, authorship, place, craft and the slower details of contemporary life.
Since its launch, Client has produced 68 Client editions across its main magazine and related titles. These sit within Ian Cole’s wider independent publishing practice, which spans more than 210 magazines, books, zines and digital titles across fashion, photography, art, design, travel and culture.
Client remains independent in tone and structure. It favours authentic imagery, thoughtful writing and work with a sense of permanence — less concerned with fast trends, more interested in what lasts.

The original Client Magazine title remains the foundation of the project: a photography-led magazine shaped by fashion, portraiture, art, design, architecture, interviews, music, exhibitions and visual culture. Traditionally published in black and white, with selected special editions produced in colour, its archive reflects a long-standing interest in authenticity, atmosphere, creative authorship and the editorial possibilities of the printed page.
Today, Client Magazine acts as the central editorial space for the wider Client world — bringing together image-making, culture, style and considered features with an independent point of view.
CLIENT is available by mail order with worldwide shipping, in selected stores plus digital PDF editions.
Client Style UK
.

Client Style began as a style-focused extension of the main magazine, exploring fashion, designers, products, editorials and visual culture in a more direct style-led format.
Published in full colour, Client Style sits as the sharper fashion and style strand within Client — useful for product stories, collaborations, designer-led features, shopping notes, seasonal edits and editorial fashion stories.
Client Magazine U.S.

Client U.S. was developed in 2013 as an American edition within the Client family, extending the magazine’s focus on fashion, photography, casting, portraiture and culture through a more international lens.
Published in full colour, Client U.S. has primarily featured fashion editorials, emerging and established photographers, models, stylists and creative teams, while also allowing space for selected hotel features, travel notes and photographic stories. As the title continues to evolve, Client U.S. also welcomes photo-essays and image-led projects that reflect place, identity, atmosphere and contemporary visual culture.
Food & Travel

Food & Travel looks at a place through photography, design, hotels, interiors, restaurants, landscape, culture and mood. While Client does cover traditional restaurant and hotel reviews, the wider focus is on considered journeys, photo-diaries, boutique hotels, luxury and design hotels, food culture, destinations and the quiet details that shape a place.
The section brings together hotel features, restaurant notes, city observations, interiors, cafés, local food culture, slow travel and design-led spaces. It is less about checklist travel and more about atmosphere — where to stay, where to eat, what to notice, and how a place feels through the lens of Client.
